This is a video critique and demonstration of how I improved N. Frant's Yosemite shot using Aperture and Aperture Plugins. There's more that could be done using Photoshop and other tools. The idea is to show you what is possible.

Great video Scott. I learned a few Aperture shortcuts I was unaware of. Going to get that Tiffen plugin too. It looks amazing.

I'm loving the new site Scott. Everyone likes to hear their photography is good but it's always immeasurably helpful to get the kind of honest critique that often a family member or friend just doesn't want to give. It's a great insight to be able to look at a photograph, consider how I would like to improve it, and then see what your opinion is. Thank you.

Just learned about your new site last night while listening to TWIP. It is just great and I appreciate all the help you give. I am a user of Aperature and will now get the Nik plugins that I have been thinking about for the past 3 months. Thanks again.

Scott, that is really awesome. I just found you, too through TWIP. I didn't realize how low I really was on the photography learning curve. Some of the comments you've made elsewhere are starting to make sense to me now after having seen this.

Question: I noticed that you don't seem to be a slave to the "normal" aspect ratios that are used for printing photos out. How would you handle printing a photo out that wasn't a standard size? Don't the photo labs typically hack away at the photo to fit it to their print size?

As a fairly new Aperture user, this was a very helpful and informative tutorial. Scottcritiques is a great idea. I look forward to continued learning and insight.

Very nice work Scott. Gives users a peek into the flexibility and power of Aperture, a program overlooked by many photographers.
