Pico / Ilha do Pico Description
Pico, the most southerly island in the central group of the Azores, lies east of Faial and southwest of Sao Jorge, from which it is separated by the 18km/11mi wide Canal de Sao Jorge.



Topography

The rugged and mountainous island of Pico, 48km/30mi long and up to 15km/9mi wide, with an area of 433sq.km/167sq.mi, rises at its western end to the prominent Pico Alto (2,351m/7,714ft), the highest peak not only in the Azores but in the whole of Portugal. The highest point in the eastern half of the island is the Pico Topo (1,633m/5,358ft).

    Great Job! I really enjoyed the footage, and the chilled out climbers. There are really a lot of cool elements here. I especially applaud you on the color. Did you do any work on the color or is that just the raw footage?

    There was a great balance of high contrast silhouette images with front-lit landscapes and the shot of the climbers faces in the sunset light was terrific at the end.

    My only criticism is on the camera-side. There are scenes where you can see a lens flare because the matte box probably didn't do a great job when the light was coming at a particular angle into the lens. Unfortunately this is where cheaper cameras fall down. But considering the circumstances way up there you did an amazing job.

    Great work, really. Excellent composition of scenes, great music choices and editing.

    You are right, when filmed not noticed the light that entered the matte box. For the next time I have to pay attention.

    Really great, beautiful shots. It shows the awesome atmosphere of place.
    After watching this I am sure - next time I must take my tripod to the mountains. It makes big difference... And I don't have EX1:(
