Night Bright is an interactive installation of nocturnal discovery where children use their bodies to light up the nighttime forest and discover the creatures that inhabit it. Listening to the creatures' sounds children can locate them in the forest, as they play a nighttime game of hide and seek. Read more about the project here: design-io.com/?p=13

beautiful, as always. the interaction looks tight, and all the visuals are stunning. i like the subtle hints of 3d-ness to the models, i haven't seen that in your work before.

Nice work Emily & Theo. This feels a lot more alive than previous works in terms of behaviors of the creatures. Also liking the depth & 3d-ness same as Kyle.

thanks everyone for the kind comments. Emily did a bunch of 3D with this project and the whole scene is 3D ( though with a fixed view ). We also had a lot of fun with shaders for the lighting.

The project also uses a kinect for tracking and we posted tracking video here: muonics.net/cvMovies/kinect_wall_floor.mov

omg i want to see a debug version where you shift the camera's perspective to show how the scene is actually laid out :)

Wow great! This would be perfect if the people wouldn't cast shadows!

Amazing! I love how the code and the visuals blend in so seamlessly, you don't even notice it uses technology.
