Art Prize in Grand Rapids, Michigan inspired the most complex sky art project to date . . . the first of a series of 3-D, future generation related images called "Emergence". With a nod to the trompe l'oeil (french for "fool the eye") school of painting, Beyond the Sky depicts two mythical gigantic albatross birds transporting children from the "Pool of Potential" into the reality of life on Earth. These children are special, evolved visionary beings who will lead us into a new way of living in harmony on Earth and one another. Keep an eye out for them! Various people watch this mysterious and beautiful emergence in awe from the edge of the opening that appeared that day. This 180' x 140' image was made of 500 people plus 4 shades of mulch, a few hundred pairs of blue jeans, fabric and Lake Michigan white sand.
This living painting was created and performed on September 9th and 10th with over 1000 participants, in Jenison, Michigan for Art Prize, 2011.
