The San Diego Ski Club, founded in 1935, dismantled a quonset hut in San Diego and transported it in pieces to Mammoth by truck in 1959. Club members built a frame floor, added bathrooms and an entrance area. This collection of original film shows the steps of the building process. Also, great footage is included of the Mammoth Mountain ski area, ski gear of the time and early ski racing. The video ends with a 50's fondue meal shared by the skiers. The ski chalet is still in use by San Diego Ski Club members.
