• A webcam (video cam) is used for a musical instrument. Software "RGB Music VideoCam" grabs a sequence of video images, then it converts RGB (Red, Green, Blue) values of the image to three notes of sounds. RGB value 120 is the middle C, and RGB value 122 is added a half steps of the scale that is C#. Black 0,0,0 is no sounds. The basic conversion is twelve-tone scale. However the software prepares scale filters, a player can set any musical scales. Each color is assigned by QuickTime midi instruments. Red color is played left, Green color is center, and Blue color is right on the virtual stage. A tempo is controlled by intervals of grab images. The fastest is 500 milliseconds and the slowest is 60 seconds. A grabbed image is separated 3 by 3, 4 by 3, 5 by 4 and 6 by 5 cells. Each cell shows an average color of a part of the image. A player can play one cell, two cells and four cells.
•The video cam lens is covered by a plastic wrap for avoiding too high or too low sounds.
