The audio design behind The Order To Come was to challenge the way we hear music and to brake some fundamental rules of music production. The goal was to create a piece of “Art” rather than a “Mix Tape”, and hopefully construct something that wouldn’t fit comfortably into any specific genre.
The music comprises chopped-down pieces of audio, put together to allow interest through its indifference, using ambitious samples, scornful styles and dejected lyrics.
Ultimately, this was to become a piece of video art.
The visuals use the original audio from The Order To Come as a creative starting point, following its tone and rhythm to create a visual collage that is both evocative and provocative and spans generations and continents. Viewers enter a sensory dream world where nothing is certain and the barely visible is free to create meaning of its own. The intensity of the music is compounded my the hypnotic repetitious imagery.
