Alphonse Dougal works as a gardener at Lombadina Aboriginal Community on the Dampier Peninsular, approximately 170km north of Broome in Western Australia. Known for its dramatic scenery, and its unique and pristine environment, Alphonse describes his daily tasks of caring for the reknowned lawns of Lombadina, a verdant oasis of green in an area dry for at least 6 months every year. Alphonse gives us a rare insight into life and history of his community.
