Nation's Triathlon 2011

This year's race was very different. Due to the Potomac River conditions after recent heavy rains, the swim portion of the race was cancelled for safety reasons.

Additionally, there was a 59-year-old NOVA man that died during the first 5 miles of the race from what appeared to be a heart attack.

Overall, the spirit of the competitors and fans was joyous and most felt it a huge honor to race on the 10th anniversary of 9/11. Throughout the crowd, national pride was rampant.
Thanks to everyone for a wonderful race.
