News video shot on 5DmkII - The Economic crisis hits China
10 months ago
Filmed and edited by guardian.co.uk staff photographer Dan Chung.
A first attempt at a proper TV style news video shot entirely on an Eos5DmkII and Nikon lenses. It initially ran on the front of the Guardian website.
Guardian China correspondent Tania Branigan reports on the millions of migrant workers returning to the countryside for Chinese new year holiday, some with little prospect on a job in the capital when they return.

Could you please explain what you used to stabalize your image, while you were walking backwards and shooting the reporter? Was this done with a Merlin Steadicam?
Thank you for posting Dan!
Happy to see that news video coverage can be done wih 5DMK2. Means a lot to me as I mainly work for TV as ENG and willing to buy the new Canon for short films and clip making.
Just an advice if I may...17mm is really wide for moving pictures, far beyond any video lens. Look pretty strange sometimes. Most of video wide angles stop at 24.
Just to help you improve the nicest video I've seen using canon DSLR.
best regards.
