How to pack and unpack your bicycle for your next flight
11 months ago
Taking your bicycle to another country by plane can be tricky.
Scratches, dents, bended forks and missing parts can occur.
In this movie you see how I pack and unpack my bicycle.
There are many other methods which are also good.
This method gives me the following advantages:
* The small box can go trough a X-ray machine
* The box fits in my car for transport to the airport
* The box fits fits in many taxies for easy transport to the hotel
When possible I store the box in the first hotel.
After my trip I assemble the bicycle in the hotel and bring it to the airport by taxi.
I hope that you will have some ideas how to pack your bicycle for your next flight.
Sent a personal message of you have a good idea about this subject.

I noticed after using several methods flying with your bike packed in a box like this, is the safest option. Only we don't use as much foam as you do.
That's why I prefer bags, although they give a higher risk for damage. And the bag forms an extra layer under my tent or a ting to sit on in the country. :-)
Good packing though. Maybe I use some more foam next time.
Then you ask the camping or an restaurant to store your goods. You have to cycle a loop of course.
