Me and Dani dancing to JET. This dance was both kinda sloppy and a lot of fun. Unfortunately, the person taking the video loses track of us for a minute. Also, she talks over the video. But, what are ya gonna do?

Enjoy!

EDIT: My grandmother left this comment. Not sure how or why she's on my account.
It doesn't look sloppy to me, but free, and definitely FUN. I liked the lift near the beginning and the moves at about :52--heads together, 1:29, 1:38, and 1:59-about 2:03--a sort of run across the floor. Free and spirited!

Ok, self-critique of my dancing in this clip. Ignoring the various moments of large-scale disconnection, the biggest problems that I see are:

    1) I lose my pulse when I'm thinking about a move. Best example: I just completely stand up while I'm winding her up :27-:29.

    2) I have a tendency to lean to one side during my "Charleston Lindy." This looks (and is) unbalanced and inorganic, and also causes me to tighten up across the shoulders and back too much. Best example: 2:27-2:30.

    3) I tried to do a "lindy spin" (for lack of better terminology) several times, and was only vaguely successful once around 1:19, when it cuts back to us. Granted, it fit the music, but it became redundant and generally didn't work. I need to generate more momentum coming into it in order to get the follow rotating me around.

    4) My free arm is still kinda tight in side-by-side Charleston, but it's getting better.

    5) My tandem Charleston is boring; my basic isn't very dynamic, I don't mix it up much, and it more or less looks like I'm going through the pattern to kill time while I think of another move to do. My first move from Tandem is that left-side push at least 80% of the time. I need to practice Charleston and learn more moves. I also need to keep my hands lower... the connection sort of creeps up too high.

    6) I can do the Charleston scoop lift (0:40) no problem. However, I invariably put the follow down awkwardly; specifically, she is still spinning when her feet hit, which throws her off balance. It works in my head, but I need to figure out a more solid way of returning her to the ground.

So yeah, that's what I see. If you're a lindy hopper, please post your criticism and suggestions!
