Bill Kauth talks about helping to found the Mankind Project and, as "visionary," to develop it. Inspired in part by the women's movement of the 1970s, MKP is based on an intense initiatory "training adventure" weekend, plus local integration groups and, for many, continuing men's groups. In the initiation, men confront their "shadows" and find their "missions." International in scope, MKP has over 400 members in the Rogue Valley of southern Oregon where Kauth now lives.
