Germany reached a major green energy goal in 2011 – more than 20 per cent of Germany's electricity is now being produced by renewable energy. The country has ambitous goals and a new plan to eliminate nuclear power. Dr. Christine Wörlen is the former head of renewable energies for the German Energy Agency and she's worked on projects in 60 countries for the UN. She was speaking at Grant MacEwan University in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. This talk was presented by the Pembina Institute, the Solar Energy Society of Alberta and the German Embassy in Ottawa.
