We are very happy with the reception of our new production "On the road to slavery" by the fictional Abolition News Network. This is a new approach, never attempted before, of a comprehensive teaching and study of the history of slavery in the United States in the 18th and 19th century by allowing students to hear the actual words and thoughts spoken by most all personalities involved that contributed to this subject, both for and against from 1776 until after the Civil War. This particular clip is quite moving and is a true story about a slave girl witnessed in 1838 on the Steamer "Uncle Sam." We actually hear about the horror and cruelty in her own viewpoint of what it was like to be a young slave girl bought in the United States before the Civil War. This clip is from Disc four of a seven Disc production. Senior Producer, Steve Edison.
