St. Tikhon's Monastery Museum houses a good collection of military chaplains uniforms and kits from WWII to current U.S. wars, and the entire display will be on loan to SVOTS for Orthodox Education Day (OED) 2011. Here, Archpriest John Perich, museum curator, notes some fascinating details connected with the chaplaincy of Fr. Vladimir Borichevsky, an alumnus of St. Vladimir's and the first ever Orthodox Christian military chaplain in the U.S. Armed Forces. Each item in this exceptional display is annotated with a specific chaplain's name. Come, join us for OED on Saturday, October 1, 2011, to view this fine collection, to worship with us, and to enjoy a day of entertainment, education, food, and fellowship!
