A period crime thriller with supernatural overtones based on actual historical events that takes place in the Barcelona of the early 20th century. A city gripped by mass psychosis, as child after child is kidnapped off the streets by a mysterious “Hooded Lady” who acts with apparent impunity.

The two protagonists are Gregor, a visionary progressive English engineer wants to bring electric lighting to Barcelona to cut down street crime, and Enriqueta – an enigmatic, ravishing Catalan woman who plays the seductive socialite with a sideline in beauty products reputed to be near-miraculous. Gregor is to discover that Enriqueta is the kidnapper. He'll pay dearly for this. Enriqueta has bizarre mystical fixations and powerful allies in high places, men she has ensnared in her sex-heavy rituals. Gregor´s wife dies and his young daughter is kidnapped. Gregor ends up forcibly enrolled in the Spanish colonial army in Morocco. Given up for dead, Gregor will make it back, desperate to find his missing daughter and eager to bring Enriqueta down.
