This is the opening video for the YMCA of the North Shore's 2011 Gala, "Masquerade," which took place on October 29, 2011.
In spite of a historic October snowstorm, hundreds of supporters joined the YMCA of the North Shore for its 13th annual gala, “Masquerade Ball”. The gala benefits the YMCA’s Y for All campaign, which helps ensure no child, family or adult is turned away because of their inability to pay. More than 500 attendees enjoyed fire performers, live Statues from the YMCA Theatre Company, a jester and casino games, plus a silent and live auction and dancing to the music of Catch 22.
The snow wasn’t the only thing setting records Saturday night. This year’s event raised more money than ever before with over $225,000 going to help children, adults and families across the North Shore stay healthy and involved with the community through YMCA programs and services.
Beth Francis, YMCA Chief Development Officer remarked, "Barry O'Brien's vision for our YMCA's gala event video was spot-on and effective. We have a short window with our attendees to reach out, deliver an emotional plea and conjure up generous support that will help our Y's kids and families.
Barry has an uncanny nack of being able to see the forest through the trees and really deliver a video that achieves our goals. This year's videos were no different, although the financial success this year's videos inspired was remarkable...most amount we have ever raised in our 13-year event history." "
