I have heard of Francis Chan and his book. You are right on about the church just being a social setting and not a place of adoring the God that so much loves us and to have the chance to get with others and love them too!
Cornerstone has fast become an integral part of my walk with God. Several months ago I found Francis on YouTube and have been listening since. I attend the Salvation Army Church in my community and I have realized that right now I am so pulled to God that no one church community is able to address my spiritual needs. Listening to all the pastors at Cornerstone seems to be a guaranteed home run in terms of integrity of the message and relavance to my life.
Looking forward to reading....
The Forgotten God : Reversing Our Tragic Neglect of the Holy Spirit
I believe that the church (God's definition of) in America will see revival. FC and cornerstone set an example.
Author of The Shack said (paraphrase) you do not just go to church....you either ARE the CHURCH or you are not. Thank you Francis Chan and Cornerstone.
from a midwest girl......
It is refreshing to hear words that compel us to act and not merely believe, hear the word and go home. When you actually " . . . love thy neighbor as thyself," that is a command to DO something. Loving one another is at the core of being a disciple.
Isn't the definition of neighbor broader than that, though? How do you extend that love beyond the congregation and into the world?
