Directed by Daniel Leeb of Cinecycle Productions.
This short film features Alfred Bobe Jr. and Fatimah Durkee. The film spins a visual ballad between the two cyclists experiencing the city in their own unique ways. Both cyclists are city dwellers who amidst the chaos of the concrete jungle have created a private and peaceful psychological space as they traverse the streets. They are both alone and yet they are both very much aware of each others presence. The film speaks to the harmony with one's environment that can be found while riding a bicycle in a city and the synchronistic connection we can have with those we have not even met. The short was commissioned by Hutchinson tires.

Very well done. Did you guys ride along with the Varicam? Or from the back of a truck or how for the moving shots?
  • Cinecycle plus 3 years ago
Oh we ride along with the Varicam of course!
  • Alex 2 years ago
question on the riding along, were u riding along in a car?
there's a shot between 2 buses (looks too tight for a car to ride along)?
  • Cinecycle plus 2 years ago
That shot like most of it was done via bicycle

whoa! this is exactly the kind of movie I'm trying learn to make. I was in these exact spots as a visitor to NYC a month ago, and I spent the whole time conceiving of shots, etc. The result is about 100 times crappier than your video: vimeo.com/2857529

but I'm-a keep trying. Thanks for making this, glad you got some sponsorship too...

Nice video - only problem is neither of the cyclists were wearing helmets and the guy didn't seem to care too much to follow traffic rules. But I am nitpicking here - otherwise good video though.

Haha... make your own music noob.
  • Alexander Lach 3 years ago
u have a problem cain abel? btw that vimeo name could be offensive to others. oh, and learn the description of the word: noob.

p.s. im not a music composer anyway.
  • Echinadrome 3 years ago
Lool... aren't you just a audacious little pup. Try thinking next time before you ask him to go out of his way to e-mail you a score which is probably belongs to cinecycle. Or try asking for him to make it available to everyone. At least you'll seem less douchey :P
  • Austin Brown 2 years ago
the music is already available to everyone - and it was made available before either of you started posting. look up, shut up.
  • Eric Buist plus 2 years ago
I love when people try to get others work for free.
  • Echinadrome 2 years ago
Sorry, let me explain. Lach made a mistake. He took neither the time nor consideration in checking for Cine's post and then "begging" for music respectively. As I see nothing wrong with seeking creative help (Mr. Buist), Lach made a mistake. Do we reward people for making mistakes, Mr. Brown? No. That is why I did not go out of my way to post the link to the music.

Lach went off the assumption that the music did not exist, and I simply followed his knowledge (however flawed). You may have been annoyed at our rather long convo or perhaps my seemingly blunt manner; petty, compared to Lach's mistakes and lessons he must learn in life about not asking in a douchey way.

Thus, please learn to analyze instead of merely skimming the comments. Maybe you too won't be such an angry little gremlin if you could learn to ask nicely :)

P.S. Thanks Cine for being so magnanimous with your work.

one of the most amazing fixed gear video i've seen that wasn't entirely about tricks. That beginning shot were he cut inbetween those two taxi's was dope. i was pretty sure he was gonna get hit.

P.S. is the Affinity shop in the beginning the affinity shop in Boston that makes all those pursuits?
