LMO recently recorded Fernando Velázquez's score for Babycall, a thriller from Norwegian Production Company 4 1/2 film.
Anna and her eight year old son Anders move into a large apartment building following a difficult relationship with Anders' father. She becomes overprotective of her son - even buying a baby monitor to keep track of him. However, strange noises from other apartments start appearing on the monitor...
LMO were recording with Fernando for the second time in recent months - following their successful collaboration last summer on the US box office success - Devil.
Babycall was recorded in 2 sessions - the first session calling for 22 strings, harp and piano, and the second using 28 strings, flute, clarinet, bassoon and horn, also with harp and piano. Steve Mclaughlin engineered / produced the sessions at Abbey Road studio 1 and LMO was led by Gaby Lester and conducted by the composer.
Babycall was released in October 2011.
