As part of the 1979 Way Festival to mark the 150th anniversary of the founding of Western Australia, Rolf Harris returned to his home town of Perth to perform with the Western Australian Symphony Orchestra at the Perth Esplanade.

The 'Gendarmes Duet' is in reference to a song Rolf would sing with his family as a boy growing up in Perth. Here he performs the song surprising his Father by getting him on stage to sing with him.
