Seven year old Vibe lives with her grandparents. On the weekends, she travels over 100 kilometers to visit with her parents. The magic of childhood slowly fades to make way for reality. It is at this turning point, I ask her how this all came to be.
The answer leads me from the idyllic landscapes of Moerkerke to Vibe's mother, my sister, Britt. She lives behind closed curtains, isolated from the outside world.
In an audiovisual play of seeing and being seen, of words and silence, I join mother and daughter in an indirect dialogue.
Through it, I try to answer Vibe's questions--as well as a few of my own.
