United Methodists of Zimbabwe Women's Revival

A short passage from our film "African Christianity Rising: Stories from Zimbabwe" following some of our key characters, Mrs. Bwawa, a school teacher, and her neighbor and friend, Mrs. Bingepinge, both leaders in the United Methodist congregation we portray, to the annual meeting--or "revival"--of the women's association of the United Methodist Church of Zimbabwe. This passage shows the kind of all-night worship, or "pungwe" drawing on traditional religious practice , that has by now been embraced by most mainline, mission-founded churches in Zimbabwe.
