This is a short form documentary about Sarris Candies in Canonsburg, PA.
This was a fantastic and fun school project for Advanced Editing class. My crew and I got to experience all the stages of a full blown production by calling locations until we got a "Yes," planning the shoot, interviewing people, filming B-Roll, transcribing and building a script, and finally editing and post production.
I loved this project because I got to be out on location. Also, it was unbelievably cool to be in a chocolate factory. I wish I could convey the wonderful smells through the footage. I directed the interviews with Mr. Sarris and Mr. Candelore and felt priviledged to have the opportunity to hear their stories in person. After the interview, we took a couple days to film every last square inch of the building before post production began. After transcibing the interview and building a script, we recorded voice over and then split up to create our own indivual edits.
