The USS Oriskany is an Essex class aircraft carrier launched in 1945 and intentionally sunk as an artificial reef near Pensacola Florida in 2006. This video was shot with a GoPro Hero camera refocused for underwater use and a 50W HID video light made by Dive Rite. The dive was to 180 feet using Trimix and required about half an hour of decompression before surfacing. The wreck is in excellent condition sitting upright and nearly level on the bottom with the only major area of collapse being the smokestacks which have dropped debris to the port side onto the flight deck at about 155 feet and to the starboard onto the balcony near the bottom of the escalator at about 180 feet but otherwise do not appear to have compromised the integrity of the tower.
