Tim Geithner is the perfect example of greed and a person who had no clear accountability for his taxes. Shame on you Mr. President.

The "Shame on you" language is overly dramatic, unless your his grandfather of course, then I guess it would make more sense.

In the first 28 seconds of is 'message' he had already blamed the 'other guy' for all the problems.

Typical and business as usual in Washington.

All politicians look alike to me.

    Business as usual?

Respectfully, prior to Obama, when was the last time any high ranking U.S. official posted videos to sites like this?

That's a step toward transparency that I appreciate.

I, too, am worried about all politicians looking (and acting) alike.

I'm hoping for a difference with this present administration ...

not to sound like I am complaining, I think putting those videos on the internet and dedicating them to the public domain is a great initiative, but can we please have them on a higher resolution? :)

    thanks!!

I completely agree. They have the HD version on the whitehouse.gov site in mp4, yet they upload a low def version on vimeo.

    whitehouse.gov/WeeklyAddress/Video/2009/01/20090131_QWSANC/20090131_Weekly_Address.mp4

    Doesn't make much sense.

I hear the word credit alot in your speech Mr.President . Do you not think that it is partly to blame for the mess the world is now in. Please, for a moment, imagine a world where people live within their means and that the banking system does not own the people like slaves.

I am really liking what I hear. I think it has been clear for a ridiculous amount of time where the major problem areas are in large businesses.

As an employee of a company that does not foolishly negate the welfare of their employees by selfishly letting greed take control, I suggest taking a look at the corporations and companies that made huge strides (while everyone else was running into the ground) by actually offering products and services that people find value in and are willing to spend their more limited funds on. The companies that were very successful last year aren't doing well because they sold bulk, they are exceeding expectations by providing service and products that is above and beyond what they are used to.

Take a look at the retail stores that have been successful last year, or car dealerships, or anywhere else, the ones that are failing are the ones that aren't willing to experiment and try things a little bit differently. The people happy with the norm are going to start getting left in the dust very quickly, and I say give them the opportunity to catch up if they like, if not, sayonara, au revoir, good bye. Lets move forward.
