Professor Ed Blakely addresses the symposium A WARMING EARTH: WHAT THE COST OF DOING NOTHING?
Taking place at CSIRO Discovery Centre in Canberra on Saturday 20 August 2011, the day looked at informing the debate around climate change science.
Professor Blakely works at Sydney University's United States Studies Centre as Honorary Professor of Urban Policy.
His work as the 'recovery czar' for the rebuilding of New Orleans gives him an insight into how Australian governments can help in the aftermath of extreme weather events like those seen in Australia in January of 2011, as well as advice for the future planning of our urban areas.
