Dear Family and Friends.
As you all know almost 2 years ago my families life changed forever. Jordan was diagnosed with Type I Diabetes. This is not your grandpa's diabetes...that is type II. This is something she can never grow out of and will be with her for the rest of her life. As if dealing with Type 1 diabetes isn't enough, This July Jordan was diagnosed with Celiac diease, which is something she will also have for the rest of her life!! About 25% or 1/4 of type 1 diabetics live with both dieases as well. However, that is why I am writing to you. We, and many other families are in a desperate search for a cure. The Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation has been searching for many years and has made great strides in helping maintain this disease but yet still no cure. So, together with your help we can make greater strides in Curing this disease!!!
JDRF holds a walk to help in this fight. On Sunday October 23, 2011 at the College of Staten Island at 8:30am, my family will be walking for this cure. We have started a team called Jordan's Just Too Sweet. To help our team reach it's goal please copy and go to this link .jdrf.org/site/TR/Walk-NY/Chapter-NewYorkCity4456?px=1681931&pg=personal&fr_id=1438 and make a donation. Any amount will help! Please help us meet our goal. You are also welcome to join us on this day to support Jordan and her family. All are welcome!!
