Cicero left to us one of the most eloquent presentations of Epicurean philosophy in his work "On The Ends of Good and Evil." This video is adapted from the section of that work in which Lucius Torquatus delivers an extensive "Defense of Epicurus." The defense focuses on the point that Epicurus held a Life of Happiness (rather than "virtue" or the "will of the gods") to be the goal of the life of each individual, but in the process Torquatus delivers a sweeping overview of the entire Epicurean system.
