    Thanks man.

How did you find the Sigma 30mm so far?
You had not used your Tamron since?
  • Kendy plus 4 months ago
Thanx dude ! The Sigma is very good, I like its sharpness.

What is the blurred thing in the foreground in most of the shots?
  • Kendy plus 4 months ago
This is a personal technique I use with a diopters +4.

awesome! it's really layered and interesting. what colourgrading software do u use?
  • Kendy plus 4 months ago
Thanx Sarah, I just use the basic curves tool in After Effects.

  • Great work!! how about some sound design?? best!!!
  • Kendy plus 4 months ago
Thanx :) There's some sound design but i made them very light. You can hear them if you listen to the music with an headphone or a good sound system.
  •
  • This is Super! Please do a tutorial video on your color correction process
  • Kendy plus 4 months ago
Thanx man ! About the colorgrade once again, nothing extraordinary : just the curves and levels in AE. Everything is about your taste in colorgrade, which I can't teach you because I can't teach you what I find beautiful or not :)
  • Jeremy Snell 2 months ago
    ^well said.

slick video by the way.. i think you've convinced me to buy a diopter. (:
  • Kendy plus 2 months ago
    Thanx man ! :)

  • Joe Murphy 4 months ago
cool technique - you have got some nice colours going on. The 30mil appears to offer more tone.
  • Kendy plus 4 months ago
Thanx dude. I used for that one a new picture style : the Cinema picture style.
  • Joe Murphy 4 months ago
Cinema picture style? not sure which was the last one I tried...

Where do i find that one?
  • Kendy plus 4 months ago
    I bought it there : cineplus.ch/cinema.html
  • Daniel 4 months ago
Kendy, do you have a clear preference yet, between Technicolor Cinestyle and this new Cinema? Or is it still too early to decide? :D
  • Kendy plus 4 months ago
I prefer the Cinestyle for a better colorgrade range. Cinema style is not a flat preset, it is to get cool colors without colograde process. But for this video, I colorgraded it just by using curves & level, I didn't set the contrast.

  • Juan Gamundi plus 4 months ago
Hello Kendy! This video is really impressive! I like to see some shot with blur spots make me some good emotion. =) I also like the transition. I wonder how did you edit the good transition? Isn't from After Effects or Adobe Premiere Pro? (I am not really "Final Cut Pro" editor. I always use adobe software). Also... what kind of program did you use for sound effects?

    Keep working on! Cheer! =]
  • Kendy plus 4 months ago
Thanx Juan ! I make everything in AE included the edit. For the sound effects I use Audacity to edit sounds or take samples from a musics. But I have a lot of sounds on my hard drive I collected on internet.
  • Juan Gamundi plus 4 months ago
Ahhh ok. I understand now, but I wonder how to edit the simple transition of "Fast Motion Blur"?
  • Kendy plus 4 months ago
Easy : just put a fast motion blur between 2 cuts :)
  • Juan Gamundi plus 4 months ago
    Thanks Kendy! =]

  •
  • Jez Irwin plus 4 months ago
really nice! did you use a split diopter, or make the effect in post?
  • Kendy plus 4 months ago
Thanx ! The diopters effects have been made during the shoot. I didn't use my split filter because it doesn't work well with the sigma 30mm (it works better with the tamron 17-50mm). I used broken glasses and a diopter +4. Cheers
  •
  • Taylor Thibeau plus 4 months ago
Great stuff man. Very striking. I'm a big fan of the diopter stuff!
  • Kendy plus 4 months ago
    Thanx Taylor ! :)

Inspiring movie. I blew my mind that you shot it on a 550D, thats the camera I just bought. To think you didn't need a more expensive camera to make such qualiy. Keep up the work mate.
  • Kendy plus 4 months ago
Thank you Kim ! Yes I really think I don't need more, the 550D does the job perfectly :)
  •
  • RoyalCodeFilm 4 months ago
awesome job as always! have been a fan of your work for awhile and is always top notch! What did you use for the film clutter/scratches? artbeats?
  • Kendy plus 4 months ago
Thanx man. I used an artbeats footage :)
  • RoyalCodeFilm 4 months ago
I have some artbeats footage i want to use but its size is only 720x486, how would you use that with 1080 footage? i tried scaling it up to fit, but looks pixelated.
  • Kendy plus 4 months ago
I have the same but it fits well to a 720p comp. AE make a great job when you need to scale a content without pixelating too much :)

Rad job bro! Loving the tones and effects (cuts and transitions) a lot...the pace of the editing is sweet. What are you using to stabilize the car scene exterior perspective?
    Very good!
  • Kendy plus 4 months ago
Thank you very much Marcus ! :) I didn't use anything to stabilize the car scene exterior view. I just put a Gecko mount on the car. I have that one : photo.photobeaubourg.com/1812122717_FAT%20GECKO.JPG

Thanx man. No post on that video about the flares, everything has been done in real camera. It's a personal technique I use with diopters. It's not easy to handheld because with that technique you must be able to shoot with only one arm.

Your style reminds me Camille Marotte. Great job, colours edit. I love short videos like that.
  • Kendy plus 4 months ago
Thanx man. I think me and Camille don't have the same style at all. Camille never uses diopter techniques ;)
