    this is real.
  • Andrew Weigand 4 months ago
So now if you try to do something good, protect people, and attempt to break up a fight, you'll get arrested and charged with multiple accounts assault. Lead the way Seattle, lead the way of lazy bureaucratic bullshit.

  • Nick Poling 4 months ago
Jones got put in jail for this? What? Phoenix, you did the right thing, OF COURSE, and the cops are wrong, AGAIN. You were protecting people by breaking up a street brawl and immediately and repeatedly calling the authorities, and YOU get sent to jail? Seattle PD is a joke. This is exactly why we need MORE people like you.

Noble act but reckless, randomly showing up trying to be a hero can aggravate a situation.... these guys didn't call the cops until the shit hit the fan.
  • Henry Del Rosario 3 months ago
I was thinking the same thing. Showing up randomly and start spraying people to try to stop the fight is not the right move. He's goal is good, but it seems he's doing it wrong, in my opinion.

Shoe bimbo needs anger management (amongst other things). Wow. Should have let the crazy trash beat each other up. They deserve each other.
  •
  • rdikulus 4 months ago
wow...so the good guy actually gets arrested...smh

most people run away from danger and/or instigate...while somebody like him is actually risking his own life trying to do the job that cops should be doing!

only thing i recommend this guys is to become a cop and have his unit allow him to continue doing what he does best.

also this guy needs sponsors and a movie!

    i salute this guy!
  • Henry Del Rosario 3 months ago
I'm not sure but i think he got arrested for spraying people, not for trying to stop the fight.

This is a fine example of why you shouldn't be playing "Super Hero" as you clearly are not one. It's just a matter of time until one of these wanna be "Super Heros" gets severly injured or killed.

People gotta understand that when you say there's multiple street fights, people being hit by cars, and assaults on the actual reporting party that cops are gonna come locked and loaded for bear. Throw in the fact that the caller Mr. "Superhero" police caller extrordinaire Phoenix Jones says he's wearing "body armor" and they may just come with a few AR-15's. Not a wise idea.

I like Shoe-Girl. She's quite the super villain. I also had to laugh as the heroes were chased by an angry mob with rocks. You should get a steadi-cam, this could have been the greatest video ever made. lol - It's like more Jackass than Jackass, "Let see what happens when we dress up like assholes & pepper spray strangers."

Wow, how did Jones get 4 counts of assault & get arrested.

That BMW hit someone, and they tried to get the license plate, that's Assault & Battery.

The intent to do harm (assault), and the contact (car) (this applies with the girl with the heels striking jones)

(I'm in law school) You guys are awesome, send me a message if you want (in tx lawschool) but we have a great library, so I wouldn't mind helping out.

"Super Heroes, large group of people fighting...I have no idea what's going on."

I still don't get who the fat man with face paint is... Is the Insane Clown Posse his backup? It's interesting how right away the Police just want to arrest the first person they see without looking at all into what happened. I applaud someone for trying to help out since the police force is a joke but sadly Phoenix will be the one getting put in prison while shoe girl gets to collect food stamps and unemployment... what a great nation we live in.

  • Robby Russell 4 months ago
I'm conflicted on this. First... I can appreciate the sort of mentality that goes into wanting to do this sort of thing. Sure... let's play superhero... we'll dress up and bring protection... but you're also meddling in domestic disputes, which is always going to be a messy situation.

You're going to be better off trying to scare away thieves who don't want to get caught then people who are already in a public space (and disregarding their concerns for police showing up).... and in the event that they turn on you... I'm not sure you should keep pushing back.

You pepper sprayed civilians... and I'm not sure the law protects you from doing this in this manner. This wasn't self-defensive when you got yourself involved. I suspect that if you didn't pull out the spray.. you'd not be facing these charges.

also... I'd expect a superhero to stay under the radar more... posting a video like this probably undermines your motives... unless it was just to get internet cred. If anything, I hope people who might be thinking of doing something similar see how dangerous it can be to play superhero and clean up the streets yourself.

If someone copies your actions and gets hurt... know that you were an inspiration.
  • Henry Del Rosario 3 months ago
Agreed. The idea to be a super hero is ok. But that doesn't mean you get into a fight and start spraying people. They're just doing it wrong.
  •
  • Robert Leather 4 months ago
Do you think that perhaps running around in body armour and a mask might actually provoke more anger than actually solving the problem.

I've broken plenty of fights up and did so by calming people down and separating them. Pepper spraying and shouting.... unless you're backed up by other people and/or police officers. Not really going to work.
  • Henry Del Rosario 3 months ago
    True.
  •
  • Jerry Vasilatos 4 months ago
You'd never see Batman running around like an attention whore with a camera crew in tow. If you want to be a real vigilante you don't make yourself known to the world. Hang up the tights Phoenix.

  • Djani Pehilj 4 months ago
I understand why the "superheroes" do what they do.
It makes sense, and they're sick and tired of the crappy job the lawenforcement does in their town.
They take matters into their own hands, sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.

It's risky as all hell, and not really clever to do so - Especially not when you've got a can of pepperspray in your fist, ready to spray away.

But then again, people get looked down on if they just walk by without doing anything. These guys try to break up a fight. It's a noble intention, but might just make the fighting party more aggressive - Especially when you walk around in a costume.

I mean, hey, I get the symbolic meaning, but you get too much unwanted attention, and people are especially wary when it comes to random folks in costumes running towards them.

My advide; Go civil. People now know Phoenix Jones' face, he might as well go with the bodyarmor underneath a jacket or whatever. Trying to break up fights, sure, but maybe not waving around with pepperspray.

In the end, I'd say that these vigilante guys did the right thing. They might've stopped a fight that could've gotten someone killed. They were assulted when trying to stop the fight, but saying "They got what was coming" is just pure bullshit. The Shoe Bimbo did something more illegal than the costumedudes themselves.

The pepperspraying WAS warned several times beforehand. They got it all on film.
I see no reason for PJ getting arrested. Yes, he peppersprayed some people - But they attacked him.
He got arrested - They were fighting out in the streets.

Something just doesn't sound right, hm?
Show the video in court, prove that he was doing whatever he was doing in selfdefense.
That'd probably end in a fine and/or making him stop doing the vigilante work.
And, perhaps, get some of the hit'n run-guys and shoethrowing chicks and such in court as well.

    Good luck!
  • Henry Del Rosario 3 months ago
Mmm yes, but, the fact that he warned the pepper spray doesn't make it legal to go and spray people.

Change the pepper spray for a gun. Now, he warns he has a gun. So he can now go on shooting people?
  • Djani Pehilj 3 months ago
    True enough.
Not saying it's legal, but it's defendable and rational.
Obviously he's not a bad man - Or he might be, but he has good intentions and he doesn't harm "innocent" people. Getting pounded for trying to break up a fight without defending one self, does that sound better?

All our lives we get into our heads that we should help people that are troubled, stop people (you know) from fighting and so on.
Yet when someone finally does it, it's a bad thing.
Again, I don't say that the dude was right when spraying - But I would do the same. What would you do, if you attempted to break the fight the way he did? Would you let them kick your ass? Or would you defend yourself?

No, it's pathetic that the police wouldn't show up to something like this within 30 minutes.

It's dangerous to allow injustice to rule our city.

It's stupid to NOT step in when you feel people are in harm's way.

    LONG LIVE PHOENIX JONES.

I understand you want to help people and do good, but getting into a fight just like that and pepper spray everyone won't solve anything. You're doing it wrong.
  •
  • Colette Henderson 1 month ago
This is awful. I totally understand wanting to help out but it's using pepper spray on a street altercation as a first response is just not right. Especially since there may be underlying domestic violence complexities. If you wanna be a superhero, try being a social worker. You'll get the training you need and can always call 911 when shit hits the fan.. Oh but I guess you don't get the ego stroking by that kind of work. Oh well.
