In this tutorial I demonstrate using a UIProgressView. But, I do it Apple's recommended way. Upon clicking a button, I fade the view, and place a clear view with the progress bar above the faded view. This makes the progress bar modal.

Its pretty cool...

    BTW, you should note that the moveBar method is lousy design...the other controller should control it. I was going to explain why, but my kid was screaming bloody murder so my thoughts were elsewhere - lol.
