What Matters to YOU?
I made this short movie for the Vancouver Film School/Youtube Scholarship competition of May 2008.
The goal was to create a film or pitch with a maximum length of three minutes, covering the theme "What Matters to YOU?".
I didn't make the deadline but recently, almost a year later, decided to finish it anyhow. This is my first short and I'm very eager to hear what people think about it. What worked? What didn't work?
Linear editing: VirtualDub
Non-linear editing: Blender
Sound editing: Audacity

Also, the quality after uploading is not as good as I would've liked. I have no idea what I'm doing wrong there.
The guitar and voice quality were excellent on my set up with no noticeable hiss. The last shot in the country was very good and seemed to be a different camera! But perhaps there was just more light.
I didn't like the grainy slipper shots.

I thought guitar-quality was good, but the voices were originally quite uneven in sound texture and volume. I tried to fix it as much as possible. I didn't have my shotgun mike back then.
The last shot was the same camera, but the complete change in visual style was intentional, as well as caused by the fact that I didn't have good indoor lighting.
Can you tell me what you didn't like about the grainy shots?
