On a stormy, moody dawn in early October we pulled into the quiet village of Catherine Hill Bay on the east coast of Australia and were struck by the anchored presence of the historic Catherine Hill Bay Jetty.
The dominating yet decaying spine walks its way out into the bay almost like a reptile emerging from the sea chiselled rocky headland.
Sheltering from the rain, it offered a magical atmosphere as we explored its aging hulk and wandered through the jetty's many legs.
A great location for film or photography, Catherine Hill Bay is a 2 hour drive from Sydney and well worth the trip. We'll be back there again soon.
