Here is some old Super8 film footage I found in my loft Of my sons Adam (4) and Darrin (2) in 1982. I transferred the film to digital using a DIY realtime transfer system and applied the AviSynth 8mm film restoration script written by Freddy Van de Putte vimeo.com/13173031.
My results aren't even close in the image quality that Freddy has achieved, but it's not bad :-)
