SINGLE DOME :
A TALE OF EXISTENCE / BİR VAROLUŞ HİKAYESİ
by artists and project managers Lalin & Suzin Akalan
The Video is a footage from "Affective State" - an experience design based exhibition curated by Akalan sisters during the 12th Istanbul Biennial at the historical Tophane-i Amire.
Akalan sisters dissect the exhibition space into esoteric/mystic sections, influenced by rooted belief systems - and work with fellow artists to create one big work of art. The viewers were able to lie down onto big pillows and gaze at the enveloping big dome.

Clay Sphere and walking people by Miray Özcan
Soil-borne people, symbolizes the position of Mankind in this Creation we know as the Universe. Acting in unison and dependent upon each other, it is the instinct of Mankind which converges with an exalted force, pulling towards that force that lies behind the force which moves them towards the tree.
Terrestrial Globe and Realms / Yer Küre ve Alemler:
Fabric Installation by Tolga Çokdeğer
The Installation is suspended inside the cistern which can be seen from the glass partition in the center of the foundry, creating the sensation of a curtain drawn over one’s eyes. Viewers standing inside this cistern who peer skywards from between the curtains can barely discern what they see.
