Inspired by the Juno Award-winning album The Happiness Project by Charles Spearin (Broken Social Scene, Do Make Say Think), a team of artists each interpreted one of the tracks of the album in an individually designed room.
I was invited by Artist Bloc, a Toronto arts collective and the project's organizer, to be a part of this exhibit. I was given the track Ondine, which centers on an interaction between Spearin and his daughter, and created a mixed-media installation consisting of a balloon sculpture and an audio-reactive visual projection.
The Happiness Project opened on October 1st as part of Toronto's all night art festival Nuit Blanche and closed on October 14th.
