Aalborg Universitet står bag projektet Pay As You Speed, der har til formål at reducere antallet af hastighedsoverskridelser i bil hos en gruppe forsøgspersoner bestående af unge nordjyske trafikanter. Dette gøres ved at implementere et højteknologisk system til intelligent fart-tilpasning i forsøgsgruppens biler.

Systemet blev præsenteret på den internationale kongres for intelligente transportsystemer, ITS ’07, juni måned i Aalborg – en messe med ca. 1.500 eksperter i trafikteknologi fra ind- og udland.

I forbindelse med messen havde Aalborg Universitet et ønske om, via filmmediet at kunne visualisere og forenkle det komplekse system over for de besøgende.

Filmen vandt BRONZE til MCA Awards 2008 i kategorien "Corporate Communication - Markedsføring"

    Looks like a great way to keep tabs on drivers in a big brother stylee as well as creating revenue and making life even more expensive for the common man thru insurance. Yeah! Just what the world needs! Driving death has nothing to do with distance between objects, of course, and manufacturers...oh nooooo....;p

    Vehicles are inherently dangerous and this will not help. Having people slam on their brakes to avoid paying a fine is no way to reduce accidents. It also distracts their attention which could lead to an accident. This device could still be useful as long as it does not report you.
