So life would have been much easier if ANY of these things were to be true: The RX7 was made for normal sized people, our team consisted of midgets, or the steering wheel wasn't as big as an extra large pizza.
Being that none of the above are true we had to do some seat base modifications so that every driver could fit in the car as well as reach the pedals. Doesn't sound like a particularly hard task...but it was. Don't worry mates, its all safe and secure now!
Here Jeff is taking the angle grinder to the stock front seat support. I had already cut the rears out with a sawzall and a large hammer.
I still am going to have a hard time getting comfortable for a multi-hour stint in the drivers seat and the constant banging of my helmet off the roll bar padding is going to be annoying as well.
