The Golden Nugget Mine Ride was located on the former Hunt's Pier in Wildwood, NJ and first opened in 1960. The ride has not operated since 1998 and will be removed before the start of the 2009 season.

The Morey's Piers Company held a farewell ceremony for the ride on January 31st, 2009. Bill and Seph Cherkasky from darkinthepark.com were present at the event and produced this report.

great effort on this video. thanks. i miss the nugget very much, what a loss of a completely unique and fun ride. i rode it every chance i got. i wonder what dick knoebel has up his sleeve!

Janie, Just watched this vimeo! It was great seeing you at the Golden Nugget Farewell Ceremony in January. Since you did such a great job promoting the Beach Theatre, Hunts Pier, and doing the Wildwood Doo Wop lectures, I was really surprised that you weren't up there saying something too.
