I think this is a great idea, and while I haven't researched this particular organization, I do tend to encourage meaningful giving through similar organizations like Heifer. But I disagree that money spent on cards, flowers and chocolates is "wasted" - I think those things can be beautiful expressions of love too, especially if one is careful about what is purchased, and the source. If you're buying these things in general, buy from a locally owned small business and support your local economy. Want to go a step further? Do some research and buy a card made from artwork by children at St. Jude's Hospital, flowers from a sale benefiting a non-profit you support, and fairly traded chocolate from Equal Exchange. There are lots of ways to support economic justice through conscientious consumerism - and to maybe still have $5 left to support a project like this one!

Cool film - love it's message.

However.... there does at first glance seem to be an amount of incompatibility between the message of this film verses the largely 'god wants to make you rich and lovely' message eminating from the majority of the programs output by Angel Mission's parent company God TV.

Perhaps someone might like to put me right on this?

I long to see documentaries on God TV talking about this kind of project, programs about grassroot churches helping the poor at their level, oppotunities to assist, pleas for us to change our lifestyles - but instead I just see trailers for huge conferences featuring well dressed, gravel voiced American orators speaking from expensive stages from exotic locations, and it makes me very sad.

I tend to agree with Stuart but I like the message too.

The videoclip is good but it's an exception I say so I agree with you. Though one thing is good that they have it's those 5mins stories about though questions about faith.. don't remember what they are called and then clips when people tell their testemonies sometimes between the different programs.. And a big up for that the channel nearly doenst got any comercials, atleast not here in scandinavia..

I hope that they are sinsere enough to not send programs with to advance teachings about this and that - all to mutch - in like asia and the middle east and unreaches places. Instead I think they should focus on evangelism and aid for the poor programs. I agree that the rich churches of United States aren't the ones which should be in focus.. I'm not even sure those kind of preachers in mega churches with expensice suits and cars will get to heaven - atleast not if we should trust what Jesus sais: it's easier for a camel to come through a eye of a needle than for a rich person to come to heaven (who obviously loves his riches more than the poor people and God and his friends.).

Though in these megachurch ppl's deffense:
they may think they build the churches to attract people and to display the glory of God - but the glory of God is best shown trhough caring for the poor - as that shows the gentleness of our humble King.

Disclaimer: all people is saved through grace - but at some time before we get to heaven we have to deal with our selfishness. We cant be perfect but we can aim for it. About owning things: I have a personal computer that I dont really need cause we have a nice family computer also, so I guess I really shouldn't say something - but I could need it for work in the future so it's a dilemma. A Rule of thumb though is: it's more blessed to give than to get!

Hey guys, thanks for your comments! (Albeit from a year ago... :) We've just relaunched this campaign for 2010. We're using the same video and materials so we can save money and give MORE people clean water!

We just wanted to weigh in on some of the comments about GOD TV. We understand Christian television doesn't always have the best track record, especially in the U.S. But if we can look to GOD TV in particular, and the founders Rory and Wendy Alec, you will find two people and an organization who truly care about loving poor and needy people, just as Jesus did. GOD TV donates a percentage of all revenue to Angel Mission to do projects that serve the needy. GOD TV via Angel Mission is also responding to earthquake victims in Haiti, as it did to the southeast Asia tsunami and other crises. Check out our full website at angel-mission.org to get a sense of all the amazing relief and development projects supported by GOD TV and our partners.

Please share this video with your friends and family, and join us in replacing consumerism with clean water!

Hi. I really love the idea and have donated to the cause in honor of my wonderful wife of 15 years, Brenda.
A great idea would be to turn your presentation into an e-mail card to be able to send it to your sweetheart and let her know that you are honoring her by contributing to this great cause in her Honor for Valentines. Keep up the great work. Lord Bless!
  • Angel Mission 2 years ago
Thanks for the great idea, Jose! One thing you CAN do is that after you make a donation, the website will take you to a page where you can send an email to your loved one to tell them you gave clean water in his/her honor. It won't send the video in the email, but it will indeed have a link to the main video and it will be an email from you to your Valentine! Hope this works for you.

Love the video, love the sentiment, love the idea.

(Hate to be a stickler, but in the next-to-last frame, you spelled "Valentine's" incorrectly: forgot the first N. Doesn't take away from the power of the video though!)

And at 2:05. Typos in motion are typos nonetheless.

    Also, great idea.

Thanks guys, the typos are embarrassing to say the least. New typo-free version is now in place.
