[SMAP Experiments] Friends of the Earth (2007)
We wrote this for a Friends of the Earth 'Green Film' Competition, back in August 2007. We only had a couple of days available to make it, so didn't manage to get it finished on time, but we've been itching to share it ever since. Rather than sitting on it any longer, we thought we should throw it out there! So, excuse the dodgy technical details; we think Si and Mike's performances shine through! :)
This was the first time we'd experimented with full CGI backgrounds... We learned to always film the smoke AFTERWARDS. Ha! It was also really good to have the 1 minute time limit to learn how to be more ruthless in the edit.
Huge thanks to Invention Studios for letting us film there, and especially Jonathan Turton-Smith for being so lovely to us.

I think that would be a good folk dance band name:
"Hi, we're The Shonky Bits. Are you ready to do-si-do!"
Man, let's all hook up and make a thing soon, eh?
Good job guys!!
