Given a 1-page script already selected from a screenplay competition to comment on the London Riots, filmmakers were asked to interpret the script as they saw fit without much deviation from the single page given.
This is our entry, we selected the script 'Why?' by Milethia Thomas.
Produced, Directed, Edited, and Photographed by Anil Rao
Original Music by Daniel Pemberton.
UPDATE: Post Festival.
We have a winner! Anil Rao, who shot Milethia Thomas’ screenplay, ‘Why?’ won the film challenge at the London Screenwriters’ Festival 2011.
Judges comments included Eddie Hamilton (X-Men editor)…
‘Very cinematic, excellent use of camera, composition, editing and music… a tour de force, and for me the clear winner.’
Producer Jeremy Bolt (Resident Evil Franchise) commented…
‘Subtle and visually bold. Made you think and the boys performance was very believable it was understated. I also thought editing, cinematography and music were very strong.’
