Revere Films is a venture I decided to start back in May of 2010. It was a bit of a risky venture, being very young, and not having much of a portfolio to show prospective couples. But for some reason this didn't stop my couples from 2010 at all, instead, I found it only strengthened our friendship. When it comes to doing wedding films, I value the people I work with more beyond the perspective of them being a client, I find that limits the emotion and story that you get, but instead I value them as friends that I and my team enjoy spending time with.
This was no exception with Lata and Purvish. From the day we met in downtown Toronto for coffee, to the foggy day we shot their love story, as well as their amazing wedding day of course, the whole journey was fun. Thats what I value in the whole experience, and that's what makes it so rewarding.
Technicalities
Before I get into the technicalities, I first off want to give a big thanks to Michael Y Wong for helping me shoot this wedding. Michael has been a such a good friend and mentor since I met him in the early days.... ahhh the early days ;) He jumped on board right away and was so helpful to get things kicking. I must credit Michael for his amazing steadicam work in this piece, as well as his endless number of beautiful shots that he captured.
I'd also like to thank Lauren Carson for being so helpful throughout the process of shooting the love story and the wedding.
So more about the technicalities. This wedding was almost exclusively shot on the Canon 5D MK2 because of the image quality advantage over the 7d. We used mainly Canon L-Series glass; 24 f1.4, 35 f1.4, 50 f1.2, 135 f2, and 70-200 f2.8 IS. In addition we also used Zeiss glass including the 21 f2.8 (MYW's steadicam lens), 50 1.4, and 100f2.
As for stabilization we mainly used Manfrotto 561 monopods with the collapsable legs, cinevate atlas 30, steadicam pilot, and manfrotto 503 heads on standard legs. Audio was run through 2x senhiesser wirelesses plugged into a tascam, as well as smaller portable recorders used directly on the groom and officiant.
In closing, I just want to thank everyone for the support and help over the past couple years, and here's to many more!
Thanks,
Mark
