So good! How you create the old camera viewfinder ??
  • Mael Sevestre plus 3 months ago
We created a homemade system to fix the iphone. It wasn't really convenient because we couldn't see the screen of the Iphone so we were quite blind. static.flickr.com/6228/6276042028_79677b8f23.jpg
  • Marco Marques 3 months ago
    It worked ;)
  • Arnar Birgisson 3 months ago
The framing of those shots was a bit strange, but I thought it felt familiar since the viewfinder on those cameras is often upside down or mirrored, so one sometimes moves it in the wrong direction. Intended or not, as you said, it worked.

Awesome! Great idea and lovely scoring. Can't believe it shot on iPhone. By the way Mael, please let me put this short film to my blog (dannioo.com). I want to my fellow Indonesian know this film can be real using iPhone. Thank you Mael.

    Je trouve l'histoire excellente.
Après que ce soit filmé avec une RED ou un iphone, on s'en fout.
Le résultat est là, mais l’appareil pommé s'en sort très bien et tu l'as bien dompté. ;o)
Que du meilleur pour la suite.

Great short. Unfortunately, on a Twin Lens Reflex camera, the image is reversed, so your right hand would be on the left side and you wouldn't be able to read the text.
  • Mael Sevestre plus 3 months ago
We flipped the image after shooting. It was really hard to move while shooting because we're no longer used to shoot with a reversed image
  • Sean Funcik 3 months ago
I see. May have been confusing to keep it reversed.

    Phenomenal.

Shows again the cardinal importance of a great story, and the irrelevance of the camera itself - of course, coupled with great technique and attention to detail.

Unbelievable. In 2 years almost everyone will have a camera this good attached to the device they use for calling each other.
As you demonstrate, technology will soon be transparent. Your visual sense and innovation are what made this good, not the camera.

  • Absolutely astonishing! It looks so simple to compile, but it isn't so easy at all. The most important thing is an idea - if you don't have that one, you wont make anything intresting and attractive. So, the idea the most important thing which you've shown to us in the very best way!! Congratulations, author.

P.S Has Ihpone 4S video camera been improved for a little bit at least, comparing with iPhone 4?

    Thanks, Skirmantas.

Great Music! How did you make the shots so smooth with an iPhone? Did u build some sort of stabilization system?
  • Mael Sevestre plus 3 months ago
Thanks ! Not really, we used for the first shot a kind of shoulder kit but it wasn't great, so after, we shot with the iphone with our hands. The stabilisation comes from the phone itself !

Short and sweet story, the framing was great. If you don't mind i just have a small criticism: The color grading wasn't consistent throughout the whole piece it changes significantly @ 1:55 mark. Overall great work though.
