One of the best music videos I've seen all year, I would've loved to have been at the brainstorming/pitch session for this.

With all due respect, you needed a producer, exec. producer, director, assist camera, DoP, gaffer, and an AD to shoot this? What recession??! I don't get it, quite frankly.

The plush betrayal. So fuzzy. So fake. I'll never recover!

There were three of us, my brothers and I, and the backyard was huge. Also huge was our collection of plush toys--numbers conducive to stuffed animal wars! The sky's were darkened by our furious fights and the fur flew often. But the pain was inflicted by unceasing laughter--hours of it.

Then I grew up and found 12-step. The teddy bear became a symbol of nurture for the "wounded inner child." Interesting that the symbol in the video was similar to the AA logo.

How often do we attempt to cram soft fuzzy things into that "hole in our soul." If only it were so easy.

You and your brothers collected plush toys? I guess my childhood was seriously neglected...all we did was fly kites, fish, build models, play baseball...stuff like that. I guess that's why I can't relate to this video at all.
  • Steve Lawson 3 months ago
It helps to have had a dysfunctional childhood -- or generally been impacted by the crueler side of life. In my case, plush toys were presented as an analog to love (lots of love!).

You possess some very creative and intimate ideas. I have admiration for how you handle your humor by taking the direction seriously. Absurd situations aren't aware of how absurd they actually are . . . if you know what I mean.
