Just a minor addition - Gain is a means to increase or decrease the video signal. (Some cameras can + or ā gain) It is only an amplification tool not an increase in the actual sensor sensitivity.
Now trying to give the short lesson for video: Video sensitivity varies because of the engineering of the chips. Chips are not film stock, so they are slightly different in each camera. Roughly ā Video sensitivity is around 320 ISO/ASA; and this can change based on your camera, chip size, (and if you own the RED) internal ISO/ASA/EI selection. This is what I have been told; how ever you want to rate it is up to you (I have seen it rated at 250, 320 and 400). It depends on how you treat it; broadcast video or narrative film. Gain is an internal boosting like when developing the stock you could push (+db gain) or pull (-db gain) a film stock.
Iām going to cut myself off because the topic on how this info is what it is becomes long winded and eventually pointless. I don't want to appear to be some online jerk. SO i apologize if this came off that way.
I only wanted to add some additional information to perhaps help, in what i saw, as a slight unclear lesson of Gain.
So again, great informative video.
Thanks again.
