Are you sure? The same Karin in vimeo.com/2355334 ? Traitor! Now both Royksopp and Fever Ray are both me favorites!
  • Sorry Films plus 2 years ago
no, it is not karin in the video. karin is fever ray, but im pretty sure that is not her in the video.
  • Mike z plus 2 years ago
That is not Karin, it's Marianne Schröder. You can see Karin in that video (vimeo.com/2355334) sitting at the table, though.
  • Tarver Graham 2 years ago
No, not Marianne Schröder. This is an actress de Thurrah used in his Human clip for Carpark North: vimeo.com/34928970.
  • Okan Vardarova 2 years ago
@tarver, oh my gosh, she looks like at the age of 12 in carpark north's video (about 10 years younger than fever ray's), are you sure she is the same with her in the video above?
  • devincastro 2 years ago
Yeah, this is Karin. Memorize it. Haha.

I do not know who plays the girl in this video, but she is stunning.

These Swedish are good... I find with Fever Ray and other bands (not just swedish) some kind of synthesis of a tribal energy (individual/community) with a global musical language (globalization); synthetic sounds with a visceral energy. They don't annul each other... This is very interesting, and I think this tell us something about culture and society in general...

Wow! Great song and a striking video. I read that one of the aims was to emphasize the mix of organic and technological. If that's what they were aiming at, direct hit! Excellent! :-)

From a Freudian lens, it seems there was a lot of child sexuality in there. I mean, it looks like she was pretty much in a orgasmic trance half the time. The tumultuous water? The girl in throes of magic? The mysterious man? The dark garden? I'm probably just perverted or reading way too deep into this.

P.S. She wasn't wearing any underwear.
  • Echinadrome 2 years ago
Oh and on a totally separate note, was there any use of the Psunami AE plugin? Or perhaps the Trapcode series? Please elaborate on how you made the water, light, and mist effects please?
  • daflew plus 2 years ago
hmm i saw something totally different. i saw a young child, from the next generation (my daughter) exploring the world for the first time, while the father (me) watched from afar.

and that my friend is why its art
  • Echinadrome 2 years ago
Haha so right! I'm just being gross cuz' I'm reading some Catcher In the Rye and I have to analyze it. But I'm still waiting on some hints as to how the post-production dude made all those chill effects...
  • daflew plus 2 years ago
he was prolly on a ladder and threw large rocks into the pool at night, with the lights it looks like effects. ; )
  • Echinadrome 2 years ago
Naw dude, he probably had a bunch of Navy Seals underwater blowing through straws to create that bubbling effect. He used lasers to create the shine :)
