KE – KUNSTNERNES EFTERÅRSUDSTILLING

KE - the Artist’s Fall Exhibition aims to discover and exhibit the best of the emerging talents in new Danish art, and it has been a yearly event on the Danish art scene for more than 100 years. With a series of new initiatives KE will continue to insist to be a motivational factor for the talents and a provider of a good description of the tendencies in new Danish art. As a completely new innovation, this spring there was a KE11 masterclass – a weekend event at which all artists had the chance to present their work to the KE11 selection committee, and it turned out to be a huge success.

This autumn KE moves back to Den Frie Centre of Contemporary Art. But the KE presented here will not be the one we know from previous exhibitions. This will be a fresh, new, revitalized KE which, after two years away from home, is not only coming back stronger than ever; it is also returning to a totally new and very close collaboration with Den Frie Centre of Contemporary Art.

EXHIBITION OPENING AND CULTURE NIGHT
KE and Den Frie Centre of Contemporary Art invited the public to vote for their favorite work from amongst the exhibited artists. The artist with the most votes was awarded the Culture Night’s public prize which went to Gitte Svendsen. We wished to involve and engage the public by offering them the chance to have their opinions made known and thereby taking direct part in rewarding the artist with the public’s prize. Through active participation in deciding the result of the public’s prize, everyone’s opinions were equally valid, regardless of their qualifications and professional background.
